Mission: Change the lives of at risk youth!


January’s Monthly Mission will be that opportunity! In the past, we have gone to the children that live in the projects on Davis St. and First Ave. to play games, make lunch, teach arts and crafts, and many other activities. We call these kids “Justin’s Kids” Justin felt the call to move into the area where the children needed to be mentored and more importantly…LOVED. This young man has given up many luxuries of life to give back to these kids. He is an incredible mentor, friend, and now part of our family, along with the kids and parents of the kids in this neighborhood. 

A majority of these kids have NEVER been to see a movie. That's about to CHANGE! This month we will be bringing these kids to a place called The Journey! There are so many times that we forget that they are “stuck” amongst the gang violence and drug scenes in the neighborhood. This is our chance to bring them out into an atmosphere where they have no worries, just for a little while. We are so excited to give them a day of MOVIES, GAMES, SNACKS, and oh yeah, did I mention FUN! The Journey is located on Archwood Drive in Albany, Georgia. It is located in the shopping center between Providence Church and Picnic Pizza. 

We need volunteers of all ages to help make this day one that the children enjoy and remember for a lifetime! If you would like to donate any snacks (chips, juice drinks, candy bars, microwaveable popcorn, cookies, etc) that would be a wonderful way to get involved as well! 

Come, and let’s change the lives of these children from our own backyard!
