Monthly Mission: October Being the CHANGE!
This month we are partnering with Family Literacy & Taking Authority:Stop the Violence! Our mission is to spread the word on how we can come together as a community to help end childhood illiteracy and violence from gangs, drugs, and crime! Dougherty County Family Literacy Council, Inc. breaks the cycle of illiteracy and poverty for families in Albany, Georgia with a comprehensive family literacy strategy. Low wealth families with a child under age eight participate in all four program components: adult education, early childhood development, parenting training and parent and child together. With a vision from Bishop Williams of Gethsemane Worship Center, Taking Authority: Stop the Violence seeks to be part of our young peoples lives to deter them from getting involved in crime and criminal activity. Please join us for an AWESOME day of community, getting to know the kids/families in the neighborhood, and creating change by just being there for a child/family in need! We will be playing games, reading to the little ones, and much more! You CAN make a difference!
We will meet at the park on the corner of W. First Ave. & N. Davis St. from 10am until 1pm... NEEDS for this Mission: - Face painting supplies **Any fun relay games that you can share that day would be amazing! The kids LOVE them!
