Monthly Mission: May
This month we will be raising awareness about the Special Olympics through the Albany Recreation & Parks Department. This year, the Special Olympics softball team, Albany Gnat Swatters, will be traveling to Dalton, GA for the State Fall Games. It will be a 3-day weekend full of different sporting events, dancing, and great fellowship among Georgia's great special athletes!
We need YOUR help! On Saturday, May 14th, from 10am until 2pm, MISSION CHANGE will be hosting multiple car washes
Central Baptist Church has been kind enough to offer their parking lot as 1 of 3 locations that day. We ask that everyone meet at 9am in the parking lot for registration and instruction on where each group will be designated to go for the day. The church is located at the light of Dawson Rd. and Third Ave. If you have a large group, please contact La Donna to make arrangements.
ITEMS NEEDED:
- Towels for drying - Sponges to wash the cars - Car soap - Buckets - Water hoses - Sprayers for the water hoses - Bottled water
Please wear clothing that you do not mind getting wet or dirty, along with tennis shoes or sandals with straps!

around Albany to help raise donations for the softball team. The donations will go towards traveling expenses like gas & transportation to Dalton, GA, and transportation to scrimmage games as they prepare for the Fall Games. Their funds are limited through the city, so it our privilege to join with the athletes and support them in all that they do! They will even be at the car washes to serve with us! This will be a first for Mission Change in serving with the athletes with special needs and we are truly excited to cheer them on!
