MONTHLY MISSION - APRIL 2011

We hope to see you at April’s Monthly Mission: Easter with a kick! on April 16th from 10am until 2pm at the Albany Limesink off Third Avenue! We will be partnering with "Justin’s Kids". We have worked with Justin and the kids that he mentors in the neighborhood of First Avenue and Davis St. These children do not have much and this month we want to show them love again by hosting an Easter egg hunt with games, arts and crafts, and just love them!

This particular mission is always one that tugs at your heartstrings because the kids love to see that there is laughter and smiles waiting on them. I encourage many of you who have not participated with Justin’s Kids - not to mention those who have in the past - to help build relationships with these kids and be a mentor, if time allows. They need help with homework, tutoring, reading, and more each week. Justin cannot do it all by himself, so let’s walk with him as a community to care for our children… our children that may not get the kind of love that our own get everyday.

The following items would be awesome to have for this mission and you may bring them the day of the mission:

*Individually wrapped candies

*Easter basket grass

*plastic eggs (400)

*snacks and juices to serve to the kids that afternoon

*outside games (tug-o-war, relay races, hula hoops, jump ropes, air games (jumpy castles, etc.)

*bubbles

*face painting

Needs for Justin's Kid's and their families:

comet
dish detergent
clothes soap
paper towels
bath soap
shampoo
deodorant
toothbrush/toothpaste
hand soap



For the kids:

kick balls
wiffle ball/bat
football
frisbee
bubbles
board games


ANY kind of snacks, peanut butter and jelly, and drinks
