Monthly Mission: December



Brunch with our Neighbors!



Saturday, December 24th, 2011

9am until Noon



This month we are preparing for our 4th Annual Christmas Eve Brunch! Our mission is to spread the word on how we can come together as a community to serve those who are longing to feel the love of the Christmas spirit! We will be serving our neighbors a meal, as well as, preparing meals for our shut-ins in the area.


Please join us for a day of love, holiday cheer, fellowship, and most of all COMMUNITY!  We will need ALL volunteers to arrive at 9am to help decorate with lights, music, prepare the meals to be served, pack the "gift" bags for our neighbors, and share some love with EVERYONE who wants to feel the spirit of Christmas!


We will meet in the downstairs fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church on

N. Jackson St across from the Carnegie Library...


NEEDS for this Mission:

- Scarves

- Gloves

- Thermal Hats

- Socks

- Wisp Disposable Toothbrushes

- Deoderant (NO aerosol sprays please)

- Snack Crackers

- Granola Bars

- Little Debbie Snack Cakes



Please bring your items with you that morning! We will seperate everything when you get there at 9am.

EXTRA Mission: December



Christmas Night with our Neighbors!



Sunday, December 25th, 2011

4:30pm until 7:45pm

 

 

Here's another chance for you to serve our neighbors in need! We are partnering with FUMC's SEWN Program. Please join us to share Christmas Night with our neighbors! Bring your family, and help serve a hot meal to those in need in our city. How amazing to spend Christmas with folks that may not otherwise have anyone to share in the Christmas spirit.


We will need  volunteers to arrive at 4:30pm to help prepare for the evening. Rev. Garrett Andrew will be delivering a message that night...so you are in for a real treat!


We will meet in the Gym of First United Methodist Church on corner of

Flint Ave. & Jefferson St...


NEEDS for this Mission: (for 250 people)

- Dessert (Little Debbie Christmas Tree snack cakes preferred)


We will prepare for everything when you get there at 4:30pm.You need to contact La Donna if you want to donate a portion of the meal, so that we can be prepared! We prefer you to bring the dish hot, but we  have the capability to warm dishes if needed!
