A Place 4 Hope
A Place 4 Hope, a day center for our homeless community is scheduled to open on October 1, 2010. It will be here that the homeless people can go shower, wash their clothes, have access to computers connected to internet, receive mail, get assistance obtaining much needed identification, and most importantly have access to resource persons whose goal is to help the homeless become self-sufficient. Would you consider volunteering your time and skills to bring hope to those seeking a better life?
Volunteers are needed to assist with a wide range of administrative tasks in support of A Place 4 Hope's business and client responsibilities. Duties may include, interacting with clients to direct them to the resources they may be looking for, instructing clients in the use of the telephone service center which will include fax services and messaging, light clerical duties (like filing, answering telephones, typing, etc), assist staff with providing programs, encouragement and support, and to be a "friend" to those with few social contacts. As funding and resources become available, additional services and duties will be added. Office hours are
9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All volunteers are required to go through a volunteer training. Our first volunteer training date is scheduled for Monday September 27th from 10:00 am until noon. There is no charge for this training, and all individuals should bring a picture ID with them.
Training will be held at The Salvation Army facility located at 304 W. 2nd Albany, GA
