Yes! It is here! The most wonderful time of the year! The Christmas Eve (Eve) Crazy Sweater Brunch! Round up your family & friends and grab the craziest (home-made is even better!) Christmas sweater that you own! This is a great time to continue your family tradition or begin a new one with our downtown neighbors & Mission Change!
We will be serving a hot meal to anyone in need that wants to join us on Christmas Eve morning at 10am until Noon! We will also offer Christmas portraits that you can take home THAT DAY & blankets and supplies as our love offering to our neighbors in need in the downtown area. We need YOU to make this happen!
We will also be bringing the Christmas cheer with carols and ornament making! It takes all of us to bring HOPE and JOY to all who come in our paths… we are all neighbors to one another and what better way than to sit down and have a meal as one big family at Christmas! We hope to see you!
Set up will begin at First United Methodist Church in downtown Albany, GA at 9am for volunteers to come help get tables ready, decorations up, lights strung, etc. The ideal plan is to have some folks come help set up, some folks come at 10am to help serve the meal, folks to come at 11am to continue serving the meal, and a clean up crew for afterwards. Breaking up times helps everyone have a chance to serve and get to know our neighbors. We ask that you keep this in mind as we share the love this Christmas and also serve one another as volunteers. There’s enough to go around!
We are collecting items for hygiene and snack kits, all of which can be bought in bulk from Sam’s Club. These kits will be given for our neighbors to take with them that morning.
If you, your family, your civic group, your church, your Sunday School class, etc would like to provide any of these items it would definitely be a blessing to everyone we are serving! Monetary donations or the in-kind donation of the items will be great!
If you are crafty and want to share you mad skills at ornament making… we will gladly let you help in that area as well! Bring. It. On! We will be hosting about 300 people that morning.
We appreciate your love, prayers, and support for this amazing morning that is hosted each year! We get excited thinking that lives are being touched through serving others, and simply getting to know your neighbor… BETTER!
We will also have our merch table set up for anyone who wants to make general Christmas donations, donations in honor or in memory of loved ones, our shirts will be there, as well as, some other sweet MC goodies! We are a tax-deductible 501c3 nonprofit organization.
We will see you SOON! Be blessed!
